Personalized Albums

The new faux leather albums from CTMH are amazing!! I love them so much. I gave this one in the color, Hollyhock, as a baby shower gift. I can personalize the albums by doing homemade die cuts and then making the letters into stickers with a sticker machine. It makes a great gift and/or keepsake for yourself or someone on your gift list.

Holiday Circle Card

I'm working on this card for a swap where the them is "any shape but a rectangle." I decided to go with the circle because it was a time saver since I can buy cards from CTMH in the shape of a circle. They are available in two shades of white and include envelopes! Contact me for ordering information and they will ship right to your door!

CTMH New Colors Coming Soon!

Beginning September, Close to my Heart will release 8 new colors!! I had the chance to win two colors in advance and I played with them today making my own background and texture paper with two of the new colors - Pear and Smoothie. The colors I "peared" them with are desert sand and creme brulee. LOVING the way it all turned out!!

New Storage...

I am getting four of the little carry all bags that will each have a saying on it: Stamp Shark, Card Shark, Photo Shark, and Ink Shark. Then they'll fit into the square utility tote. I'm loving the way I can organize my scrapbooking stuff with Thirty-One.

Photo Box

This box from CTMH has so many great uses. Not only can you store photos in it, but it could also hold recipe cards. I purchased mine intending to organize my photos, but after seeing how fast and easy it was to make this box tonight, I can see myself making more and more for lots of different things. This paper is part of the Zippadee packet in the current Idea Book.

Recent Projects

I've been trying to play catch up around here and re-manage my time to get caught up on cards and pages I want to finish. The splendor packet of paper has been one of my faves in this current catalog. I wasn't even excited at all about the Passages collection but it's the theme of my upcoming team meeting and I was able to get it in a hostess collection so I decided to give this a whirl. I don't ordinarily like working with paper that looks this masculine but as a result, I never have handmade cards to give to men. So I'm really liking it as it turns out. I'm a little unhappy with the balance of the card. I may move the circles up and to the left a little to make it less heavy in the bottom right side with the stamp I used. We shall see!

Hoping to post a lot more as I get more organized and trim out some of the excess headaches going on in life recently. Trying to make more time for things I enjoy....

Contributor: Alona Tan

Another one of my amazingly talented friends completed her Veranda kit recently and shared this photo of her beautiful work. Alona is a very talented artist who used to teach classes at the local scrapbook store. In addition to her artistic talent, she is a wonderful friend.

Contributor: Lusanne Fox

One of my friends, Lusanne Fox, recently discovered Close to my Heart. She made these cards using the Topstitch kit. Very nice job Lusanne!  If you'd like to contribute artwork to my blog, please submit your work by email. I love to see all the creations that friends are using with CTMH.

More thank you cards

So this is my customer order part one. These are already done. I'm so sad though because the flash on my camera is broken. The bulb broke and I need $180 to get an external flash according the local camera store. I guess I better check for better deals online. This was a photo before I realized I had no flash. I was doing a big head scratch about it at first....

StickEase for Fast layouts!

The stickEase offered by CTMH are amazing! On the back of each sticker sheets, there is a layout shown using the sticker provided. The layout name is provided and you just refer to the book where the layout lives. This layout was found in the book, Cherish, by CTMH found Jeanette Lynton. The book is available for order! When you look up the layout, it tells you all the measurements and shows additional tips for techniques. This layout was done in a super fast hurry last night while the kids were visiting grandma and Robert was catching up on golfTV.

3x3 Collection

I made these 3x3 thank you cards with the leftover project materials from last month's gathering. I'll be using them for thank you notes for those who placed orders last month. I love getting to use tiny little scraps to make something sweet and thoughtful.

Layout for Fundraiser

I'm so excited because I've been asked to help with a fundraiser for a church in the area. I designed this layout to be the workshop. We'll be doing the page on the left and also a greeting card and gift tag card. I'm still working out the details, but so far, this is the sample I'm presenting to them.
